About Us
Owned and operated by Stewart Reynolds, Agreeable Sound was created in 2003 as
an affordable means for all recording artists to ensure that their music sounded
its best.
With over 17 years
recording experience, Stewart has learned how to make almost any recording sound
like a professional release.
"I had been
mastering for myself and some friends and I was anxious to hear what someone
else could do with the same recordings. So I sent off two songs of my own to
probably the most prestigious mastering studio in the world." says
Stewart. "I won't say the name of the studio, but the project before
my own was Bruce Springsteen's The Rising."
The experience was
very expensive (over $1,200 for two songs), but also very enlightening.
With literally hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment, the
mastering studio that Stewart sent his two songs off to was one of the, if not 'the',
best mastering studio in the world. The client list of this studio reads
like a Who's Who of music stars over the past 30 years.
"When I
received the masters back from them, I was pleased with the results, but I was
suddenly very aware of the fact that my own mastering job on these same songs
wasn't much different. Bottom ends were tight. Top ends were
crisp. Volume was consistent." recalls Stewart. "I thought
to myself, I think I'm pretty good at this."
The realization began to sink in that without the benefit
of a multi-thousand or even million dollar recording to start with, each
recording could only sound so good.
"Not that the
recordings I work on don't sound good!" Stewart laughs. "It's
just that throwing thousands of dollars at a recording that only cost maybe
$1,000 to make, won't make it sound like a million dollar recording. It
just doesn't work that way."
Stewart continues,
"That said, I can make a good recording sound great and a great
recording sound fantastic. You shouldn't have to sacrifice your hard work
and hard earned money by skipping the mastering process if you're working on a
limited budget."
"We created
Agreeable Sound to make sure that everyone could afford to get their recordings
professionally mastered. We want our clients to sound great as much as
they do."
